What to expect at the Book-to-Screen PitchFest:

Prepare. Approximately one month prior to the event, you'll receive a pre-event assignment that will help you develop and jumpstart the first draft of your pitch.
Welcome. On Friday, October 28, you will meet onsite at the landmark Marriott Marquis** hotel in Manhattan, New York City, New York, for an evening of cocktails and introductions. You'll be introduced to Robert Kosberg, known in Hollywood as one of the best idea men and producers in the business, and Marcus Chait, director of film & new media for Author Solutions.

Learn. On Saturday, October 29, breakfast will be served prior to Kosberg's two-hour “How to Pitch Your Book” presentation and workshop. You'll learn practical pitching methods with step-by-step processes outlined by Kosberg.

Practice. At the end of the seminar, a two-hour slot has been designated for those who wish to participate in the Pitch Practice where you will present your pitch to Kosberg and Chait. They will provide tips to perfect and improve your strategy. You also have the opportunity to learn from the feedback they give others.

Pitch. Following a one-hour lunch break, you will meet with established agents, managers, production companies and studio executives at the Speed Pitch. You will present your rehearsed and refined pitch for approximately two to three minutes per company represented. If a rep is interested in your pitch, you will be contacted on the spot or after the event for a follow-up meeting.

Opportunity. At the close of the Speed Pitch, the entertainment executives will vote on the top two pitches of the day. These two authors will be given an exclusive opportunity to pitch to a prestigious Hollywood player

Advice. Kosberg will lead a final seminar to help you formulate what your next story should be. After the conference you will also receive a feedback packet regarding how the various executives responded to your pitch.
