How to Pitch Workshop with One-on-One Learning - Oct.29, 2011 (Morning)
Robert Kosberg will teach you how to pitch your book.. You'll then have the
opportunity to fine tune your approach one-on-one with Kosberg and Chait.

Speed-Pitch - Oct. 29, 2011 (Afternoon) You'll pitch your idea to film, TV
and theatre company representatives in a “speed dating” setting where you'll
have approximately two to three minutes per company to make a lasting
impression.

What to expect at the Book-to-Screen PitchFest:
Prepare. Approximately one month prior to the event, you'll receive a
pre-event assignment that will help you develop and jumpstart the first
draft of your pitch.
Welcome. On Friday, October 28, you will meet onsite at the landmark
Marriott Marquis** hotel in Manhattan, New York City, New York, for an
evening of cocktails and introductions. You'll be introduced to Robert
Kosberg, known in Hollywood as one of the best idea men and producers in the
business, and Marcus Chait, director of film & new media for Author
Solutions.
Learn. On Saturday, October 29, breakfast will be served prior to Kosberg's
two-hour “How to Pitch Your Book” presentation and workshop. You'll learn
practical pitching methods with step-by-step processes outlined by Kosberg.
Practice. At the end of the seminar, a two-hour slot has been designated for
those who wish to participate in the Pitch Practice where you will present
your pitch to Kosberg and Chait. They will provide tips to perfect and
improve your strategy. You also have the opportunity to learn from the
feedback they give others.
Pitch. Following a one-hour lunch break, you will meet with established
agents, managers, production companies and studio executives at the Speed
Pitch. You will present your rehearsed and refined pitch for approximately
two to three minutes per company represented. If a rep is interested in your
pitch, you will be contacted on the spot or after the event for a follow-up
meeting.
Opportunity. At the close of the Speed Pitch, the entertainment executives
will vote on the top two pitches of the day. These two authors will be given
an exclusive opportunity to pitch to a prestigious Hollywood player
Advice. Kosberg will lead a final seminar to help you formulate what your
next story should be. After the conference you will also receive a feedback
packet regarding how the various executives responded to your pitch.

About Robert Kosberg
With years of experience, Kosberg has sold more than 50 feature film
projects and currently has more than a dozen movies in active development at
various studios. Kosberg's credits as a producer include 12 Monkeys, Fade to
Black, National Lampoon's Dad's Week Off, and Commando for 20th Century Fox,
which grossed more than $200 million worldwide. Kosberg is frequently
invited to host pitch seminars all over the world. His unique background has
led to numerous national magazines and newspapers doing extensive profiles

LA Magazine and Entertainment Weekly.
*Registering your work does not disallow others from having a similar
storyline or theme. Rather, registering your work would potentially
discourage others from using your work without your permission. Though the
Registry cannot prevent plagiarism, it can produce the registered material
